Rick Friedrich left the ranch with a MONSTER. I don't think I will ever get used to hunting in October heat. The deer barely move, and when they do it is for 15 minutes in the evening and 30 minutes after shooting light. It makes for some interesting hunting days. We all got lucky that Rick was able to find this deer crossing a road just before dark.
All in all it wasn't a bad way to start the harvest log this year. As of this writing Rick and his buck are leading Los Cazadores, Cola Blanca and Muy Grande. He is 24 4/8" wide inside (27" outside), has over 38" of mass and his main beams push 30". He is just an amazing deer with a Gross Score of around 192 and a net Typical Score over 173.
There is now a new gallery up for the 2006-2007 hunting season in the Photos Section of the website. As always I will continue to update it with pictures as the year goes on. Hopefully the deer will be moving in enough light soon so I can start to use my good camera.
